Mont Albert is another incredible suburb rich in history and has some of the most beautiful homes in Melbourne. This swimming pool was in near ruins, rust issues almost everywhere and once we were done, this pool was a working piece of art.
Mont Albert Fully Tiled Pool Renovation
Mont Albert, one of Melbourne’s most charming suburbs, is well known for its leafy streets and character homes. It’s the kind of setting where a backyard pool can become the true centerpiece of family life and outdoor entertaining.
For this renovation, we transformed an old and neglected swimming pool into a stunning fully tiled pool using Druid Grey tiles with grey granite coping. The result was an elegant, timeless look that complemented the rest of the property’s backyard renovation.
From Neglected Pool to Fully Tiled Showpiece
When the new homeowners purchased the property, they inherited a pool that had been left untouched for many years. It had no working pool equipment, the shell was stained with slime and gunk, and several areas showed visible rust. On top of that, the steps and spa seat were out of square — wider at one end and narrower at the other.
Starting the project during peak summer season, we emptied the pool and undertook extensive cleaning and rust repairs. To fix the uneven structure, we re-rendered the steps and spa seat so they were level and plumb. This careful preparation ensured the tiling could be laid without irregular cuts, delivering a crisp, symmetrical finish.
Modern Pool Equipment and LED Lighting
The pool originally had no functioning lights, so while the surrounding area was being re-concreted, we installed new conduits and wiring. This allowed us to fit modern LED swimming pool lights, which completely lifted the pool’s look at night and improved safety for future use. The equipment was also fully updated, giving the owners a reliable and efficient system to enjoy for years to come.
A Backyard Transformation in Mont Albert
By the time the work was complete, the difference was extraordinary. The combination of Druid Grey tiles and granite coping brought a sleek, high-end finish, while the new pool equipment and lighting gave the space modern functionality. With the house and garden also renovated, the entire backyard looked brand new — easily one of the standout properties in their Mont Albert street.
