Deepdene, Victoria is known for its classy homes and tree-lined streets —
and most of these homes feature swimming pools to match.
A challenging job to repair the invisible and make the pool better than ever.
We first visited this swimming pool in Deepdene back in 2022. At that time, the world was still feeling the effects of Covid-19. Lockdowns, financial strain, and uncertainty meant that many homeowners placed renovations as a secondary priority.
Even so, we pride ourselves on how we treat people. We always arrive with a positive attitude, offering support, ideas, and honest advice whether the job proceeds immediately or not. So, although we knew this particular project was unlikely to move forward at the time, we still carried out a full inspection and prepared a detailed written quote, making it clear that costs could increase depending on how long the client chose to wait.
The condition of the pool then was very poor. The water was a dark, stagnant green and had dropped to almost halfway down the pool wall. There was no visibility to the floor, and the overall structure was showing early signs of failure.
Three years later, the same customer contacted us again. We remembered her immediately — we save every quotation into our system because reliability and continuity are central to the way we operate. When we returned to Deepdene, the pool was almost unchanged, but noticeably worse. More coping stones had detached, cracks had widened, additional cracks had formed, and rust was bleeding through several of them. The pool could no longer hold water. Even after heavy rainfall, the water would drain away almost instantly through the cracks.
We re-quoted the project, and this time the customer was ready. She needed the pool restored urgently, as she was preparing to sell the home. The difference now was her commitment: she spared no expense. She wanted the pool and spa not just patched, but transformed into something truly enduring — a feature that the new owners could inherit with pride.
The scope became a full renovation.
Every crack in the pool shell was chased out, treated, and repaired. Every pipe was sealed and secured. The entire structure was waterproofed thoroughly before tiling. This was no small challenge, because normally leak detection requires a pool to be filled with clean water to trace hidden issues. In this case, we had no such option. We had to methodically treat and secure every possible weakness.
Once structurally sound, the pool and spa were fully tiled with premium finishes, and the coping and surrounding decking were rebuilt to a standard befitting Deepdene’s reputation for luxury homes.
What began as one of the most deteriorated pools we had seen in more than a decade became one of the finest examples in the area — a complete transformation from leaking ruin to lasting centrepiece.
In the end, the project truly lived up to its title: Swimming Pool Salvation.
