Welcome to our captivating timelapse video that chronicles
the complete transformation of an aging, 30-year-old swimming pool into a
dazzling modern retreat.
In this in-depth description, we take you behind the
scenes of our renovation project where we preserved the existing structure and
breathed new life into every surface.
Local Pool Renovations is renowned for
our precision, attention to detail, and commitment to upper class workmanship.
In this project, we overhauled outdated tiling, paving, pool coping, and
waterproofing, while our trusted partners played key roles: Keith from Henderson Glass fencing, installed an impeccable pool glass boundary and Chris from Zen Plumbing expertly upgraded the
pool’s plumbing systems.
This story is a testament to what can be achieved when
expertise and passion come together to revitalize a swimming pool area.
With the old surfaces removed and the underlying structure
revealed, our focus shifted to design and planning—a phase where innovation met
tradition to create a pool that is both modern and timeless.
Our design team set out to reimagine the pool as a central
feature of outdoor luxury.
The new vision was clear: to transform an outdated
pool into a sleek, contemporary retreat while retaining the classic lines of
the original design.
We selected premium materials that would not only enhance
the pool’s aesthetic appeal but also ensure durability and ease of maintenance
for years to come.
In our brainstorming sessions, every detail was
considered—from the color and texture of the tiles to the design of the pool
coping and the layout of the surrounding paving.
In this image below, there is an important detail...
We love details! Some of the details we care about may be insignificant to some, but where possible we avoid cutting tiles and leaving behind unsightly lines.
The white "Button" in the image is a 3 way sprinkler that is connected to what was known as a fliphose pipe.
As you can see in the photo, we did not cut the tile in half, or cut the tile in an "L" shape to work around it, when a tile falls directly over a pipe, we cut the tile in a way that will mask the cut section so that it won't be seen, in this case we cut a hole perfectly through the middle of the tile so that it would be covered by the ring around the fliphose connector.
These are the details that set us apart from other pool renovators.
Notice in the photo below how the vertical & horizontal grout lines meet all the way across.
This is an example of a perfectly tiled round corner, this is the pinnacle of knowledge, skill & experience.
Though not always possible, we aim for perfection everytime.
Tile lines do not always work out this way, the radius of the concrete would need to be the same at the point where both the pool walls meet & both walls would need to be level to eachother.
Detailed stone masonry, carefully custom cut to suit the shape of each unique swimming pool.
Handcrafted stone art
Our experience in stonework is almost unrivaled in the swimming pool industry.
Unlike other companies, we do not send our stone overseas, we do not take a cardboard template to be cut in a foreign factory & wait 6 to 12 weeks for the pieces to come back.
We have learnt the art of cutting stone round, creating a bullnose profile & following the curves of the pool, all of which we do by hand, onsite.
Our unique blend of man and machine creating handcrafted stone onsite means that each piece is customized & unique to the swimming pool where it is laid.
